Naayak Movie Review

Synopsis:
A series of mysterious murders take place in Hyderabad and a minister (Pradeep Rawat) is targetted in Kolkata. And the blame falls on Cherry (Ram Charan) who is a software engineer in a IT company CgTrix in Hyderabad. Cherry’s uncle Jilebi (Brahmi) finds in trouble from a local goon Gandipeta Babji (Rahul Dev) and in the process of saving him, Cherry fans with don’s sister Madhu (Kajal). When things look right, a special CBI team headed by Ashish Vidyardhi starts hunting Cherry, what happens next forms the core story.

How did they perform?
Ram Charan had shown reasonable improvement in acting. His voice modulation improved. However, he had to improve a lot in expressions and dialogue delivery in emotional scenes. His dances are amazing particularly in Laila O Laila and Hey Nayak songs. Kajal Agarwal looks beautiful. Chemistry between Charan and her worked out big time. Amala Paul looks good and was confined to very few scenes and two songs.
Brahmanandham as Jilebi is entertaining. Jaya Prakash Reddy as Rahul Dev’s Pedanana, MS Narayana as lip reading specialist and Posani as a criminal in Kolkata had done an excellent job in comedy.

Technical Performances:
As in case of most VV Vinayak movies in recent times, the story is nothing new and is quite predictable except for the interval twist. There are quite a bit of cinematic liberties taken. But the way the movie is treated makes the difference. Comedy worked out big time and Vinayak made sure that he gets the elements that enthrall fans gets right. Fights contains too much of rope work and graphics which may go well with masses.
Cinematography by Chota K. Naidu looked colourful. He captured several scenic locations in songs. Editing is just ok. Thaman is too good in both re-recording and songs department.

Final Say:
First half of the movie is really entertaining with some comedy. The interval bang is too good but things become predictable since then. And as in the case of every VV Vinayak movie, the movie falls flat but the movie has all the elements required to lure the masses and fans.
