Theater lo Naluguru Review - Theater lo Naluguru Movie Review - Theater lo Naluguru Telugu Movie Review - Theater lo Naluguru Film Rating

Story:

Srikanth, Dheeraj, Varun, Swetha Pandit’s “Theater lo Naluguru” released today. This movie suspense thriller oriented one.  Here cast are mostly newcomers. This movie is directed by Sriniavs Raju. Saikiran Mukkamala is the producer of the movie.

Coming to the story is based on story of the four friends.  Each of the four boys has his own weakness. Here one is foolish about betting and another one is womanizer. And one man can’t have the sense of hearing anything, the other man is overconfident. These four boys draw alongside with the girl and they went to forest. In the forest these youngsters stumble upon an undetectable power. In general they are watching a movie called Naluguru. Attention-grabbing phase in the movie that they are watching.

That one is also based on four friends. They are also troubled by some of the evil effects.  When they are watching the movie some unusual incidents taking place in the theater. These incidents are approximately similar to those which are shown on the screen, I mean in the movie. What are those incidents? To know all those things you must watch the movie.

Analysis:

Usually a horror movie does not mark a strong story line. By linking thriller story with theatre is really nice idea. But here director can shock and thrill the audience here. Here story is definitely interesting.  Coming to the concept of hidden power killing one by one is awesome here. Here with the some degree of possessions director could bring richness. This movie is a one hour movie but deliberately long-drawn-out for two hours. Here the whole star cast does a commendable job in the film. The four male new commerce done a very good job here. Gavarraju’s funny side is appropriate.  He will entertain you for most of the time in the movie. Shweta Pandit done a good job here. She looks attractive in her part. Variety of aspects that are every thriller aspect is connected with has been covered graciously here in Theaterlo a Naluguru. First half of the movie is very slow. The movie is filled up with pointless scenes like the unpleasant skin show and with some double meaning dialogues. Second half of the movie is just ok. This is a perfect a perfect short film. Overall movie is below average.

Performances:

Coming to performances all the newcomers are did well. Dheeraj, Varun, Srikanth had done a very good job here. They are good at all thrilling episodes as well as normal episodes. Shweta Pandit is good in all areas. She is looking glamorous here. Everyone suited their roles well here in the movie. Bangarraju comedy is the big relief of the movie.  His comedy sequences are good in all the areas of the movie. Coming to the technicians are also newcomers here. Rest of the entire cast also had done justice to their respective roles.

Technicalities:

Coming to the horror movie screen play and music are the major asset to the movie. Background music composed by Chinna deserve congratulate. The background score of this movie is appropriate. Forest chase scene, capturing of night in the forest establish the talent of cinematographer.  Camera work is wonderful. Direction part is good in all the areas of the movie. Screen play also ok here. Dialogues also well here. Editing is ok. Production values are up to the mark.

Final Word: Theaterlo a Naluguru is just ok. Attention-grabbing concept and thrilling scenes are here. But it is just one time watch.

Theater lo Naluguru Review Rating: 2/5

What is the relation between Moksha and the murders? So rest of movie will be continued on this …

Analysis:

Coming to analysis the first point is script is too difficult to understand which will be unable to understand by watching movie once. Even twice also. Especially some scenes are not at all understandable and the directory didn’t take care of story and make the scenes according to his wish. Over all the movie is seems like full of blood drinking monsters. Coming to acting of lead roles, in entire movie their not changing their moods or facial expressions. Performance is worst. Overall movie is a below average movie.

Performances:

MeeraJasmine looking fine but coming to performance is not good in the entire movie. Rajiv Meenan is good in his role. He is also failed when showing expressions in the corresponding sequences.  Nassar had done a decent job here. Rahul Dev had done a perfect job here.  Sana also ok here.

Technicalities:

Srikanth Vemulapalli Script is most horrible. Even direction and the screenplay are not up to the mark. Music by Vijay Kurakula is good but the background score is not up to the mark. Coming to the cinematography by Venkata Prasad is just ok.  Editing by M.R.Varma is not good.  Production values are just ok.

Final Word: Moksha is not a complete movie. Definitely it is a horrible movie to watch. Please avoid for this weekend.

Why she wants to kill him? Who is Sankaranna and what is relation between her and Sankaranna? If you want to know the rest of story you have watch the movie in big screen…

Analysis:

Coming to the analysis of the movie, the script of the movie is the big minus. Movie narration is very slow up to the end of the movie. Movie story seems to be routine and similar to old movies. You can assume next coming scene. No where scenes of the movies touches the heart. Fells like love story is less and action is much. Screen play also not up to the mark. Raja looks good and nice acting. Nisha also looks good and homely and Asish Vidyardhi acting as Shankaranna is smart and rest of the start cast also done justice to their roles. Over all this is below average movie.

Performances:

Coming to performances Raja compared to previous movies acted lot better. Improved his Dance as well as his acting in action sequences. Even Nisha is new to silver screen but even though acts well. She looks homely in the entire movie. Asish Vidyardhi and others also done good job.

Technicalities:

M.J.Reddy script is major drawback of the movie because the script is in old style. His direction also not up to the mark. There is no entertainment, sentiment and even no love track. Music composed by Sandeep is below average, background score also dull. Editing is not so well and cinematography is fine. Need more concentration on dialogs make much better. Production values are good.

Final Word: O My Love movie name seems to be lovable but in movie most of the part is into action. It is better to avoid this movie for this weekend.

O My Love Review Rating: 1.75/5

Operation Duryodhana 2 Movie Review

Operation Duryodhana 2 Review - Operation Duryodhana 2 Movie Review - Operation Duryodhana 2 Telugu Film Review - Operation Duryodhana 2 Review Rating

Story:

Jagapathi Babu, Posani Krishna Murali’s “Operation Duryodhana 2” movie released today. Previous version of the movie is directed by Posani Krishna Murali. Which is came by six years ago.

Coming to the story of the movie is a political satire which will show the mistakes in the system. Here Hawala broker Krishna (Posani Krishna Murali) move politician’s black money to out of the country through havala transactions. He was trapped red-handed by police when he was transferring Rupees 500 crores black money belongs to Home Minister Venkatadri(Kota Srinivasa rao). Driver however confesses the money belongs to CM Pratap Reddy (Erasu Pratap reddy). What happens next? What exactly Jagapathi Babu Character is? For the rest of the story you must watch the movie on big screen…

Analysis:

The film reflects present condition of AP politics. Minister Erasu role is comparable to the current CM of Andhra Pradesh. One obtain a feeling the film outlined the down sides of CM. Posani's action is really a large plus towards the movie. Here many loop holes you'll find with this particular movie like Story, Script and direction. Even entertainment from the movie also zeros. Nowadays nobody satisfy without comic sequences within the movie. This really is certainly substandard movie.

Performances:

Coming to the star performances Posani carried out in the own style in somebody's company with his different dialogue delivery. However insufficient strength within the story undid his good stuff. . Jagapathi Babu is playing the lead role in the movie. But Jagapathi Babu seems only within the other half and the role is smallest one. He did justice towards the role. Minister Erasu Pratap Reddy didn't express whatsoever. Kota had done a decent job here. Babu Mohan also carried out accordingly. Sonia, Jyothi, Rao Ramesh, Vijay Chander, RK are also done justice to their respective roles.

Technicalities:

Nandam Harishchandra Rao has directed the film. He's unsuccessful both in story and script. His Direction examined the persistence of audiences. Posani has scripted story and dialogues. These are merely ok. Jitta Surendar Reddy and Srinivas are creating this movie. MM Srilekha is creating the background music with this flick. Srilekha didn't get scope to tune good music. Cinematography is alright and editing unsuccessful totally. Many moments pulled totally. Production values are great here.

Final Word: ‘Operation Duryodhana 2’ is not a considerable movie. Smoothly avoid this movie for this weekend.

Operation Duryodhana 2 Review Rating: 1.5/5

Mallela Theram lo Sirimallepuvvu Review

MA Rating : 3/5
Cast: Kranti, Sri Divya, Rao Ramesh, Soumya and others
Music: Pavan Kumar
Produced : Uma Devi
Banner: Godavari Cinema
Written and directed : Ramaraju
These days Tollywood is absorbed with action, comedy and romance subjects only. Either it is a big film or a small budget film, all the films have to be made with in this frame work or they will be rejected by the audiences.
But even then directors like Ramaraju, takes the risk and comes up with a decent film like ‘Mallela Teeramlo Sirimalle Puvvu.’ This is a pure poetic and feel-good film. Whether one likes it or not absolutely there are no commercial elements at all in the film. It is a film from a director with poetic, music senses. It is about a real and natural feel of love.
What is Mallela Theram lo Sirimallepuvvu About ?
The story is about a middle class married woman, who has heart for songs, music, literature and of course dreams for real love in the life. But, she is wed-locked with a money minded husband, who has no such interests. Then she happen to meet a young lyricist of her kind and got close to him in a period of time. They sing and chat for hours and hours loosing themselves into another world. Whether, she will separate from her husband to enter into her dream life with the lyricist or not is the crux of the story.
However, their endless poetic, literary discussions, singing songs and chatting through out the film makes one doubt whether there is any story in the film or their gossips and songs itself is the story. The slow pace of the movie really makes one impatient, if he/she is not that kind of audiences. Though, the concept is simple, performance of the actors is excellent, back ground music enhances the romantic mood, many couldn’t digest the film. Especially, when they are habituated for punch dialogues, skin shows of the hot girls and Sumo smashing by heroes.
Performances
Sri Divya and Kranthi, who played the lead roles in the movie did a good work. Director Ramaraju has simply reflected his poetic and artistic talents. Music Director Pawan Kumar has exactly catches the director’s inner feelings and enhanced them with his matching music.
So, those who have heart for all these things shouldn’t miss this film, others better stick to their own tastes.

Singam (Yamudu-2) 2013 Telugu Movie Review

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-n6BnN6ZwIoU/UcUxyoMorZI/AAAAAAAABJ0/bkYdovHDspk/s400/1017078_640960195933230_1414639385_n.jpg
Singam (Yamudu-2) 2013 Telugu Movie Review

Rating : 3/5.

Release date : 05 July 2013
Director : Hari
Producer : S. Lakshman Kumar
Music Director : Devi Sri Prasad
Starring : Suriya, Anushka, Hansika
Tamil Hero Suriya has reprised the role of daring cop Narasimham in ‘Singam’. The movie is a sequel to the successful ‘Yamudu’ and it has released across the world today. Anushka and Hansika are the heroines in the film and Hari is the director. Let us see if Suriya’s power packed performance helps the film.
Story :
Narasimham (Suriya) goes undercover with the intention of tracking the illegal activities of some sea based gangs in Kakinada. He manages to convince everyone, including his parents, that he is no longer a cop and joins a school as an NCC officer. He starts a covert surveillance program on the activities of dreaded smuggler Bhai (Mukesh Rishi) and uncovers the secrets of their operation.
Meanwhile, Sathya (Hansika) is a student in the same school and she falls in love with Narasimham. She also happens to be the niece of Thyagaraju (Rahman), a rich businessman who heads the Golden Shipping company. Thyagaraju and Bhai come across as enemies.
Once Narasimham has the necessary evidence on hand to round up the gang, he comes out of his cover identity and assumes charge as a DSP. He starts rounding up the gang members and comes to know about the ruthless international drug kingpin Danny (African Actor). Narasimham also discovers some truths about Bhai and Thyagaraju.
Will Narasimham be able to stop Danny and his drug operation? What does he lose in the process? That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points :
  • Suriya has delivered a solid and power packed performance as a tough and honest cop. He has done complete justice to the role and viewers will be able to feel the intensity of his performance. He looks quite handsome as always. Anushka looks glamorous. Hansika is ok.
  • Vijaykumar has given a neat performance as the Home Minister. Santhanam entertains to a certain extent with his one liners. Vivek brings about a few laughs as inspector Jamadagni.
  • There are some highly emotional and intense sequences in the film. The pace of narration picks up dramatically after Suriya takes charge as a cop and the powerful one liners will entertain crowds in B and C centers.
  • Some of the fight sequences are good. A few car chase sequences have been shot well. The production team took care about certain aspects to give the film a local touch. For example, the cars and bikes have Andhra Pradesh number plates instead of Tamil Nadu plates.
Minus Points :
  • ‘Yamudu’ worked well because it had an emotionally involving story line. With ‘Singam’, everything is quite superficial and the police drama is also a little one sided. Anushka has absolutely nothing to do in the film. She just comes in during songs.
  • The game of one-upmanship between Suriya and Prakash Raj in ‘Yamudu’ is what made that film quite entertaining. While Rahman, Mukesh Rishi and the African actor have given decent performances, they do not offer any significant resistance to Suriya.
  • The film is very long and viewers may start getting restless towards the climax. Some scenes are unnecessarily dragged out. Also, there are too many fights and chases in the film.
  • The film is very loud, in typical Tamil style.
Technical Aspects :
Cinematography is ok. Songs have been shot colourfully. Screenplay is quite good in the first half, but it could have been better in the closing stages of the movie. The editor should have cut out the slack in the second half. Devi Sri Prasad’s background score is decent.
One can see Hari’s trademark style when it comes to direction. He has succeeded in getting the intensity and the emotions right. But he should have left out some unnecessary details.
Verdict :
‘Singam’ is an intense and loud cop drama. Suriya has delivered a superb performance and there are some very
good moments in the film. However, the very long runtime of the movie, a story that is superficial and too many fights bring down the overall viewing experience a bit. You may give this film a shot, but don’t go in with high expectations.

Balupu (2013) Telugu Movie Review

  Balupu (2013) Telugu Movie Review

Rating : 3.5/5.

Release Date : 28 June 2013
Director : Gopichand Malineni C
Producer : Prasad Vara Potluri
Music Director : S. Thaman
Starring : Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan, Anjali.
Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s ‘Balupu’ has released across the world today. The movie has been directed by Gopichand Malineni and PVP Cinema banner has produced it. Ravi Teja is banking heavily on the film as he has been going without a hit for sometime now. Is he back? Has Shruti Haasan helped him in his quest? Let us check that out.
Story :
Ravi (Ravi Teja) is a recovery agent for a bank. He leads a simple life in the city of Bangalore along with his father (Prakash Raj). He comes across Shruti (Shruti Haasan) and her uncle Crazy Mohan ( Brahmanandam ) unexpectedly. Shruthi and her uncle have a habit of cheating gullible young men and Ravi decides to teach them a lesson.
In this process, Shruti and Ravi fall for each other. Shruthi’s father (Nasser) and Prakash Raj also agree to the alliance. But things take a violent turn with the entry of Vizag Poorna (Ashutosh Rana). He reveals some shocking truths about Ravi and Prakash Raj.
Ravi and Prakash Raj have a violent past and that past also involves Anjali (Anjali).
What are those truths? What role does Anjali have in Ravi’s life? That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points :
  • Ravi Teja has toned down his energy levels for this role. He looks superb in the mass character and he has uttered the punch dialogues with conviction. This is perhaps his best commercial project after ‘Mirapakai’. Welcome back!
  • Shruti Haasan looks ultra gorgeous in the movie. She sizzles in the song ‘Padipoyaanila’ and her glamour will be a big asset in B and C centers. Anjali has a crucial role in the film and she has done a good job.
  • Entertainment quotient is high in the first half. Brahmanandam entertains as Crazy Mohan and he steals the show during the climax episodes. Comedy sequences involving Ravi Teja and Brahmanandam are good. Prakash Raj has delivered yet another classy performance. Ashutosh Rana is effective.
  • Mass masala scenes and hero elevations sequences have come out well. The interval bang, where Prakash Raj and Ravi Teja fight together, lifts emotions to peak levels. The flashback episodes have good commercial appeal. Climax sequences have been handled well, especially the Jhamping Jhapak episode.
  • Lakshmi Rai looks good and her song has been shot well. The romantic duet ‘Ninu Choosina Kshanam lo’ has been shot beautifully.
Minus Points :
  • The story of this movie is very simple and quite routine. The main plot will seem quite familiar for Telugu viewers and the movie proceeds along predictable lines.
  • The film loses pace in the second half and some sequences seem unnecessarily dragged out. If not for an entertaining climax block, the film would have suffered. The rivalry between the two warring factions should have been elevated further.
  • The placement of the last song, ‘Pathikella Chinnadhi’, could have been better. Ali’s comedy scenes appear forced and do not really help the film. The romantic track between Ravi Teja and Anjali is quite superficial.
  • Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, Supreet, Fish Venkat and Adithya Menon are wasted in insignificant roles.
Technical Aspects :
Cinematography is a mixed bag. The songs have beautiful visuals but things are not so great when it comes to some of the talkie sequences. Screenplay is good during the first half but it is not upto the mark in the second half. Editing could have been better. Veligonda Srinivas’s dialogues work well and some of them have ‘double meanings’. These will work well in B and C Centers.
Thaman’s background score is effective. Gopichand Malineni has succeeded in showcasing Ravi Teja well. He scores good marks as a director with this movie. Production values are good.
Verdict :
With ‘Balupu’, we can perhaps say that Ravi Teja is back! His mass look and powerful punch dialogues work well. Shruti Haasan’s glamour and Brahmanandam’s comedy are major assets. A slow second half and routine storyline bring down the overall experience a little. ‘Balupu’ ends up being a mass masala entertainer that is definitely worth a watch.

Bava (Allari Naresh), Ajay (Kick Shyam), Shiva (Vaibhav) and Purush (Raju Sundaram) are thick friends. They grow up together and share everything in life. Plus Points :
  • The film has really good 3D effects. There are a number of scenes where viewers will experience high quality 3D sequences and the entire team must be appreciated for having the courage and the conviction to attempt this film.
  • Allari Naresh is really good in the lead role. He has tried his best to make the comedy work. Kick Shyam and Vaibhav are ok. Raju Sundaram brings a few laughs with his antics and punches. Sudeep is brilliant in a cameo appearance. Sneha Ullal has come up with a very glamorous performance in the film. Neelam Upadhyay is neat and effective.
  • Brahmanamdam is ok as Magnet Mama. M.S.Narayana entertains with spoofs on Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan and Siddharth. Master Bharath has done a decent job.
  • Songs have been shot well. ‘Ding Dong Bell’ and ‘Swathy Muthyapu Jallulalo’ have excellent visuals.

Minus Points :
  • If you have seen ‘The Hangover’, you will know what will happen in most of the scenes.
  • The film keeps losing pace at times, especially during the forest episodes and the climax sequences. Some scenes should have been edited out to improve the overall experience.
  • Some of the comedy sequences appear a little outdated and cliched.

Technical Aspects :
The film’s cinematographer and stereographer need to be appreciated for doing a very fine job with the visuals. Editing could have been a lot better. Sunny’s background score is decent. Dialogues are ok in places but they are not too impressive.
Director Anil Sunkara has done a good job with the visuals and he has taken care of the technical aspects in a proficient manner. But the screenplay and scene development could have been better. Production values are rich.
Verdict :
Action has impressive 3D effects. The film has some good moments and very nice visuals. Allari Naresh, Raju Sundaram and Sneha Ullal are the positive aspects of the film. On the flip side, better screenplay and dialogues would have really helped the movie. Overall, Action 3D can be watched for the sincere effort that went in to the making of TFI’s first true 3D film.

Saradaga Ammaitho (2013) Telugu Movie Review

Rating : 3/5.

Release date : 14 June 2013.
Starring :Varun Sandesh, Nisha Agarwal.Director : P. Bhanu Shankar.Producer : Pathikonda Kumara swamy.Music Director : Ravi Varma.
Varun Sandesh has been appearing in way too movies and most of them have fared badly. He is back yet again with his latest film ,Saradaga Ammaitho. The film has Nisha Agarwal and Charmi has appeared in a special role. The film has managed to hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.
Story:

Santosh(Varun Sandesh) is a playboy. He leads a flashy lifes and has affairs with lots of girls. One fine day, he meets Geetha(Nisha Agarwal) and falls for her grace. He tries to woo her but to his bad luck, is ignored by Geetha completely. But he does not lose hope and continues to bug her.

Sick and tired of Santosh’s tricks, Geetha throws him a huge challenge. She asks him to live in a ladies hostel for ten days and lays down a condition that he should not flirt with anyone. Once Santosh lands in the hostel, his patience is tested by some good looking girls who try to woo him all the time.

Santosh tries hard to keep away from these unnecessary attentions and in the process realizes his true love for Geetha. He decides to confront Geeta once again but to his shock comes to know that Geetaha has left him for good.
A depressed Santosh starts searching for Geetha and once he finds her ,he comes to know some bitter truths about Geetha and her identity. What are those truths? Why did Geetha leave him for good? That forms the rest of the story.
Positive Points:
  • Varun Sandesh has done a decent job in the movie. He is good in the scenes based in the ladies hostel. Nisha Agarwal gets a plump role and she makes the most of it. She looks beautiful in the songs.
  • Rao Ramesh is neat. Ali and Mumaith Khan are OK as a married couple and try to bring some laugh with their double meaning jokes. When compared to the first half second half has some interesting twits.

Negative Points:
  • Saradaga Ammaotho has a story which you might have seen in many films. The entire first half is outdated and has nothing much to offer. One would surely wonder why a star like Charmee needs to appear in a character which has no significance to the film. She is utterly wasted
  • Though second half has many twists and turns, most of them are highly predictable. An unnecessary comedy track and way too many songs spoil the flow of the film.
  • Double meaning dialogues are very cheesy.
  • The makers have faltered in the execution of this movie. A below par screenplay and some mediocre direction lets this film down completely.
Technical Points:
  • Music is ok. Editing could have been sharper as some scenes could have been chopped off. Camera work is pretty good.
  • Direction is not upto the mark and leaves a lot to be desired.

Verdict:
Saradaga Ammaitho is let down by its poor execution. A below par first half, predictable story line and way too many characters spoil the fun completely. This film can safely be skipped.

Something Something Review: Heartful laughs

Audience today have matured a lot. They know what to expect from a movie. They have their own demands from a film. But that does not mean they look out for something sensational or extraordinary in a movie. Just a little bit of story and little bit of entertainment is enough to impress them. But that does not even also mean, they will settle for inferior content and presentation. If director can mix story and entertainment in proper proportions and presents it impressively, they will lap it up. But that’s not an easy job. Sundar C has done that difficult job perfectly in Something Something. Let’s find out what does Something Something has in store for movie lovers

Story of Something Something is just a thin line. For that matter, there isn’t any story at all. There aren’t any extraordinary scenes or graphics. We will not find mind blowing heroism or heroine’s exposing. There are not even shocking twists and turns. The only thing which Something Something offers is a guarantee of two and half hours non stop entertainment. Something Something movie, unlike the title, has everything to entertain audience.

Let’s get into the story.

Kumar (Siddarth) is born in a family in which all the members’ marriages have been love marriages. But Kumar is averse to love as he had bitter experiences with girls in his flash back. Though he maintains distance from girls, he falls for his colleague Sanjana (Hansika). Though he falls in Sanjana’s love in the first sight itself, he is unable to express the same to her. In the same office, girls are completely in awe of George (Ganesh Venkatraman). He is dream boy for girls in the office. While every girl loves George, he falls for Sanjana and proposes her. Meanwhile Kumar starts his efforts to woo Sanjana, while she is still undecided about George’s proposal. Here enters Love guru Premji (Brahmanandam). With love guru Premji’s tips, Kumar brings misunderstandings between Sanjana and George and creates rift between them. But did he win Sanjana’s heart, how Premji changes a Complan boy like Kumar into a complicated boy, has to be watched in the theatre.

Story and scenes of Something Something are in no way new. Movie watchers have seen them in many love stories earlier. But director Sunder has added entertainment to them and presented it freshly. Right from the moment titles start rolling, writer has excelled in creating comedy. Particularly characters introduction and Kumar’s flashback appear hilarious, making audience ready for a laugh riot. In the second scene itself audience will forget that Siddu and Hansika are hero heroines in the film. Siddu has got into role pretty well. Instead of being a hero he behaved like the character. Though Siddu’s face does not suit comedy, he has adapted well and impressed.

Coming to Hansika, she is a feast for the eyes. Hansika has slimmed a bit and steals the heart. Performance wise Hansika has limited scope just with some dialogues given to her. Even in that limited scope she woos audience. Brahmanadam has shown his potential and stamina once again. He single handedly takes this movie to success shores. Scenes between Siddu and Brahmi are extremely amusing and are the main strength of the movie. Though other faces are new to Telugu audience, did well. Dialogue writer deserves a praise. He has succeeded in creating situation comedy by graciously mixing entertainment with scenes. Even director deserves a praise in this respect. Movie offers umpteen number of comedy punches

Music and cinematography are in tune with movie’s genre and presentation. The only demerit in the movie is, second half lags a bit. From the moment Brahmi’s flashback episode starts movie pace drops. Also there is a bit of Tamil movies mark overdose. Except these minor glitches this movie is quite entertaining.

Something Something is the best bet for movie lovers who want two and half hours of complete entertainment. Audience will get the best value for the money they spend on ticket. Still doubtful? Don’t worry, none other than Love guru Brahmi gives guarantee!

Prema Katha Chitram (2013) Telug Movie Review

Prema Katha Chitram (2013) Telug Movie Review

Rating : 4/5.

Release date : 07 June 2013
Director : J. Prabhakar Reddy
Producer : Maruthi, Sudarshan Reddy
Music Director : J.B.
Starring : Sudheer Babu, Nanditha

Sudheer Babu, brother in law of Superstar Mahesh Babu, is trying his luck with ‘Prema Katha Chitram’. This is his second film and it has released across the world today. The movie’s script has been penned by Maruthi and he has also ‘supervised’ the direction of the film. Nandhita is the heroine of the movie. Let us see how this movie is

Story :

Sudheer (Sudheer Babu), Praveen (Praveen) and Nandhu (Nandhita) are three dejected and depressed youngsters. They are fed up with their lives and decide to commit suicide. The three of them travel to a remote farmhouse to spend the last moments of their life. On the way, they are joined by Giri (Giri).
As they settle down into the farmhouse and prepare themselves for their last moments. As you can expect, love blossoms between Sudher and Nandhu. But when they try to get close to each other, strange things start happening.
Sudheer and his friends realise that the farmhouse contains a dark secret. The place has a violent past. While investigating these incidents, Sudheer also realises that some of his friends have other motives.
What is the dark secret of that farmhouse? What happens to Sudheer and friends in the end? That is the story of ‘Prema Katha Chitram’.

Plus Points :

Sudheer Babu has done a very good job in this movie. He has succeeded in showcasing the emotions of fear and surprise effectively. There is a short dance sequence in the film, which gives us an idea about his dancing abilities.
Nandhita is the real star of the film. She is simply brilliant. There are certain sequences where she is required to exhibit dramatic changes in behaviour and she has excelled in those scenes. She also looks quite cute and vulnerable where required.
Pravin succeeds in making viewers laugh with his Godavari slang. Giri is simply brilliant in two sequences, where he interacts with the ‘supernatural force’. The ‘Draupadi Vastrapaharanam’ sequence has been shot hilariously.
The entertainment quotient in the film is very high. There is an intelligent mix of humour, horror and romance in the film and viewers will connect to all three emotions well. The film’s biggest USP is the hilarious and racy second half.
There are a few trademark double meaning dialogues from Maruthi, but they are limited and don’t give a vulagar feel. Re-recording is a big asset for the movie. Sound and camera angles have been used effectively.

Minus Points :

The movie starts off slowly and stumbles for the first 20 – 30 minutes. There are some needless sequences, like the MLA slapping scene etc. These scenes are quite irritating and should have been chopped off.
The climax fight could have been avoided as it really does not add much to the storyline. One gets the feeling that it was placed there on purpose, to prove that Sudheer can fight. Some cinematic liberties have also been taken.

Technical Aspects :

Cinematography of the film is good. For a horror/thriller film to work, sound and camera angles are crucial. Both departments have been handled well in PKC. Editing is neat. JB’s background score is good. Sound mixing is very effective.
Prabhakar Reddy might have been the director, but Maruthi’s stamp is very obvious. This movie will succeed in giving an image makeover to Maruthi.

Verdict :

Humour, Horror and Romance are base human emotions. When they are handled effectively, viewers will connect strongly to a story. The same is the case with ‘Prema Katha Chitram’. The entertaining and thrilling second half will make you happy. Don’t miss this flick.

Pavitra (2013) Telugu Movie Review

Pavitra (2013) Telugu Movie Review

Rating : 2.5/5.

Release date : 07 June 2013
Director : Janardhan Maharshi
Producer : K. Sadhak Kumar, G.Maheshwara Reddy
Music Director : M.M.Srilekha
Starring :Shriya Saran, Roja Selvamani, Tanikella Bharani
Shriya Saran was a very popular leading lady in the south Indian film circuit. After a gap, she has come up with ‘Pavithra’, a political story revolving around a prostitute. The movie has been directed by Janardhana Maharshi. Sadak Kumar K. and Mahender Reddy are the producers. Let us see how the film is

Story :

Pavithra (Shriya) loses her father at an early age. Her mother is diagnosed with cancer. Doctors prescribe expensive treatments for her mother and this forces Pavithra to take the desperate step of turning into a prostitute. Pavithra loses her mom after a while, but she continues to lead the life of a high class escort. She becomes close to the richest businessmen and politicians in the city.
Meanwhile, Sudarshan (Sai Kumar) is a politician who has big ambitions. But his popularity levels are quite low. To cement his political future, Sudarshan plans to get his son married to the daughter of the Home Minister. But his son has other plans. He is deeply in love with Pavithra.
The crooked and wily Sudarshan smells an opportunity here. He decides to accept the alliance of his son with a prostitute in order to gain political mileage. Soon after the wedding, a tragedy strikes Pavithra’s life. She comes to know about Sudarshan’s evil schemes and decides to join active politics.
What happens next? That forms the story of ‘Pavithra’.
Plus Points :
Shriya has indulged in very liberal skin show throughout the film. She looks quite glamorous in the movie. Apart from the glamour quotient, she has come up with a decent performance in the movie. Hero Shivaji has done a good job as Siva. This character has negative shades.
Ravi Babu entertains as Sarvaroga Nirodhanandha Swamy. Sai Kumar is perfect as the selfish and wily politician.
Minus Points :
The biggest drawback of this film is the screenplay. It is very bad. The climax sequence of the film is shown first, and the story is then revealed backwards. Because of the poor writing, there is hardly any suspense left in the film.
The pace of the film is very slow and it becomes almost unbearable in the second half. There are some senior actors like Roja, Tanikella Bharani and Telangana Sukanthala. None of them have been utilised effectively.
Brahmanandam has been wasted in a poorly scripted role. The political manoeuvres are very outdated and old fashioned. Apart from Shriya’s glamour show, there is absolutely zero entertainment in the film and this will test the patience of viewers.
There are tons of other issues with the film and it is best to leave them all out in the interests of space and time.
Technical Aspects :
Suresh Kumar’s cinematography is good. Editing could have been better, especially in the second half. Background score provided by M.M.Srilekha is ok. Some of the dialogues are ok.
Janardhana Maharshi fails to make any impression in the story and screenplay departments. Production values are ok.
Verdict :
Pavithra could have been a bold film. But it ends up being a slow, boring and outdated flick. Shriya’s glamour is just about the only asset for the film. You can safely skip this unless you want to desperately watch Shriya on the big screen

Mama (2013) Movie Review

Mama Movie Review,Mama (2013) Movie Review,
Starring Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Isabelle Nelisse & Megan Charpentier.
Directed by Andres Muschietti
Story by Andrés Muschietti & Barbara Muschietti

The film is a dark modern day fairy tale that begins with a father who has snapped, killed his coworkers, ex-wife and has kidnapped his children. A snowy road causes an accident that leaves the father and his two children seeking shelter in a shack in the middle of the woods where he attempts to murder his children but foiled in his efforts by a mysterious entity. A few years later, they are found alive, somehow having survived and these now feral children are given over to their dad’s twin brother Lucas (also Nikolaj Coaster-Waldau) and his rocker wife, Annabel (Jessica Chastain). But, the girl’s don’t seem to have come alone and whatever has followed them isn’t happy about sharing them.

Coming to performances the two children (Isabelle Nelisse & Megan Charpentier) featured in the film given superb spooky performances. The chemistry between the two of them looks great and works wonderfully, as well as their relationship with Mama. Jessica Chastain is effective as Annabelle, guardian of two kids. Nikolaj Coster – Waldau (Game of Thrones fame) provides a good performance. Rest of the characters are supportive.

Mama, based on a short, takes a simple three minute premise and expands it to feature length. It is a supernatural horror flick that does a neat job at developing a creepy-crawly environment and maintaining a feeling that something scary could happen at any moment. The script is effective, it just seems director Andres Muschietti didn’t quite know how to give it the sharpness it needs and the shift in tone for the last act is a bit jolting. I was a bit disappointed with it.

The small scary film (budget: $15,000,000) is neatly crafted and shot. Mama story is engaging, and the film deftly combines a handful of scares, a creepy and tension inducing atmosphere with strong performances. On the whole, Mama is definitely worth a watch movie this weekend. Its one the best Scary films i have seen in theaters in recent times.

Special 26 (2013) Movie Review

Cast: Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, Jimmy Shergill, Manoj Bajpai, Anupam Kher, Divya DuttaWriter: Neeraj PandeyMusic: M. M. Keeravani, Himesh Reshammiya, Chandan SharmaCinematography: Bobby SinghDirector: Neeraj Pandey

Four years after he made his debut with the critically-acclaimed A Wednesday, director Neeraj Pandey is back with another thriller Special 26 (Chabbis), starring Akshay Kumar. His first film, A Wednesday won the prestigious Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film of a Director.

Special 26 is based on the daring heist that took place at the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri in Mumbai on March 19, 1987. Akshay Kumar reprises the role of the unknown man, (Mon Singh) who posed as a CBI officer and his cahoot of 26 men who walked away with jewellery worth several lakhs in broad daylight.

Ajay (Akshay Kumar) and his team of three (Anupam Kher, Rajesh Sharma, Kishore Kadam) are con-men who confidently pose as CBI or income-tax officers and raid the rich. They primarily target politicians or businessmen so that their loss of black money remains unreported. When Inspector Ranveer Singh (Jimmy Sheirgill) turns pawn of one of Ajay’s operations and is suspended from duty, he decides to trace the con-men. Teaming up with real CBI officer Wasim Khan (Manoj Bajpai), they find that Ajay’s next unsuspecting mark in a prominent jewelry store in Mumbai.

Neeraj Pandey manages to get sterling performances from the lead cast. Akshay Kumar out of his usual clowning zone, gives his best effort in recent times. Veteran Anupam Kher steals the show in performance zone. His skillfulness is clearly on display and he plays his character with great sang-froid. Manoj Bajpai gives reliable performance as does Jimmy Shergill while Kajal Agarwal is promising in the small role. But the love element between the lead roles was not that promising. Tiku Talsania, Divya Dutta, Vipin Sharma are supportive with their roles.

Neeraj Panday has shown glimpses of similar treatment of A Wednesday throughout the film. Using Split screens, Shadow shots, hints to coming twists etc. The 80s era is smartly recreated with Lamby scooters, Maruti cars, freed airport terminals, expansive runway views and old currency notes – all justifying the 80’s period.

On the other hand, Neeraj Pandey looked uncomfortable handling the small love story as a sub plot. There was nothing unique about the old buildup and lack of chemistry between the pair.
Neeraj Pandey even left out few loop holes, the Point where Jimmy & Divya bring Commissioner taking an official appointment and later recognizing the fault commissioner suspends both the officers for their negligence. If both the officers were fake why did they take the commissioner for enquiry with official arrangements or is the Minister so foolish that he can’t recognize his state commissioner of police?
Another point, even after installing a microchip to tap the phone of Anupam Kher. CBI never appoints a person to keep an eye on Anupam Kher or try to raid the house after Anupam vanishes from the final act.

Cinematography is neat and effective with high quality wide angle shots and equally effective close up scenes. Relying more on vivid shots to showcase 80’s India makes some scenes  look artificial.  M. M. Keeravani, Himesh Reshammiya, Chandan Sharma’s Music is good. Mujhe mein tu is the best song of the album. Kaun Mera too is worth a listen. Background score by Sanjay Chowdhary is refreshing. Dialogues are mediocre. Art work must be appreciated for the 80’s touch. Production Values are grand.
Special 26 is an engaging tale for sure, but falls short of becoming a brilliant effort. Worth a Watch….
